Outsiders Film v Book
In the movie of The Outsiders, it shows a lot fewer details than the book did. In the movie, it didn't say everything that the book has. For example, the movie didn't mention that Ponyboy's parents died in a car accident. It did not mention the relationships of the Greasers and the Socs clearly. Even though The movie has fewer details, but watching the movie was more exciting then reading the novel. When watching the movie, you could feel the atmosphere that the movie was showing you. You could not feel the same way when your reading the book. It is quite obvious that the film maker didn't film the movie with every detail in the story, some details are not in the movie but in the book. This does not mean that the movie is not good. When a book is made into a movie, the movie is never exactly the same as the book. Take the Da Vinci Code as an example. The book was quite different to the movie too. Its good to be creative and change things. If I would have to choose if the movie was better or the book, I would choose the movie. Even though it has fewer details, but it is funner to watch.

Film v Print
There are several difference between a film and a book. In books, you would have to imagine the things in your mind with words. In movies, you don't, all you need to do is to use your eyes to watch it. So as the characters, you would have to imagine how the characters look like with words instead of just looking at in on a screen. In movies, they SHOW you the details in the story. In stories, you would have to use the words that the author wrote down to IMAGINE the details. Reading a book takes more time then watching a movie. I could probably watch ten or more movies by the time you finish one single novel. To me, watching a movie is a lot more relaxing then reading a book. In books, you would have to memorize all those words and descriptions in order to tell what happened. In movies, all you have to do is to watch the movie and see what's happening. Here is one thing that books are better at. It is to show specific details. In a movie, it is very easy to miss a little part of the film. This can cause you to miss a small detain of the story. In stories, you won't jump around pages when you read, so this means that you won't skip details.

Making A Choice
If I was stuck with my eleven classmates somewhere, with limited food, air, and water for only 9 of us. I could either choose to kill three people or let us die together. This could be one of the hardest choices to make, but if I had to choose, I would choose to do it the fairest way. Let us all die together. To me, we are all equal, so we should not choose anyone to sacrifice for other people. It would be quite scary to see three dead bodies in the room either. I'm sure that some people would choose to kill three other people in order to survive. I would probably suggest to vote and see who wants to die together or kill three people. I would like to die peacefully, not dying from fights or conflicts. If we all agree on dying together, I would just sit on somewhere in the room and listen to music until we ran out of air or die from starvation. I might start to chat with my friends about things we use to do or fun times we use to have. This way, we could all die peacefully.

My Stuff
If I were stuck in a small place with Anne Frank and her family, I would definitely bring my ipod and my laptop including their chargers and earphones. I would bring these things with me is because those are the two things that could terminate the boredom when stuck in a small place. I could listen to the music all day long if I want to, but of course, my parents would definitely not let me do that. I could be doing some gaming on my laptop too. This is where earphones are a very important thing to have with you. Because of the Nazis, I couldn't make any sounds. With this wonderful invention, I could listen to music without people hearing it. The forth thing that I would bring to the hideout are models that I could built. Building car or plane models are all pretty good things to pass the time. The last things that I would bring to the hideout are some boardgames or poker cards. With these things, I could have some fun with my family. Boardgames and poker cards are all things that more then one people could use. With all these things, I would pretty much be entertained everyday if I am stuck in a small place with my family.

Who Do You Want To Be?
After reading the play "Diary of Anne Frank", I realized that most of the characters has quite a lot of lines to say. If I had to choose one, I would choose the narrator. First of all, the narrator doesn't need to act. Second of all, the narrator doesn't have to memorize all of his lines. All the narrator needs to do is to read out the words he is suppose to say with a great fluency. Other character such as, Mr. Van Dan or Anne, all has a lot of line to memorize. There are also facial expressions on those characters, the people who are acting as these characters has to memorize all their lines and act their actions according to what the play wrote. To some people, reading might be hard for them, so they would probably choose a character with less words or action. From what I said, you probably think that the narrator is the easiest job in the play. If you think that way, then you are wrong. The narrator needs to speak all those words with a tone which the audience would enjoy. Reading it with fluency isn't enough, if you had a robot voice but with great fluency. People won't enjoy the play because of your tone. The narrator needs to speak in a tone in order to grab the audience's attention.

Trapped!
If I were trapped in a few small rooms with my family, the first thing I would start doing would be finding things to do. There are some good and bad things about being trapped with your family. The good things are that, you will stay with your family members until the very last second of your time. The bad things is that you might go insane if you stay in there for too long, and you might get bored very easily. I would probably start off pretty calm, and after like a day or so I would start to get frustrated about getting trapped with nothing to do. I am pretty sure the rest of my family, which is my mom and dad would be very quiet and serious. They would definitely tell me to stop being frustrated and just try to find something to do. In order to occupy myself, I would probably play cards with my mom or dad if they want. Maybe I would start doodling on the wall, or lie on the bed and think about things. I know that we are hiding for out lives, but it would be pretty hard if we had nothing to do.

Why?
The Nazis felt that they needed to eliminate many types of people expect themselves. They has this thought in their mind is probably because they thought that they are the best people in the world. Other people are extra things that are not important. They thought that this was necessary because they wanted to be the only group of people in the world. They don't want other people to be part of or be involved in their own world. It would probably be better if there were less people in the world, there are several pros and cons about this. The pros are that if there were less people, there would be more spaces for you. With less people, you wouldn't have to live in a crowded city. The cons are that if there were less people, there wouldn't be a lot of business going on. If there were no business, you would have to make or do everything yourself. Take buying food for example. If there were no farmers to plant and sell the crops they planted, you would not have food to eat. You would have to farm and plant your own food. The lesser the people, there would be more things for you to do yourself.

Luck?
To me, luck took place about 70% while you are surviving. The rest of the 30% are knowledge that you learned, saw, or heard. Brian used his knowledge to build shelters, find food, and make weapons to protect himself. This is where luck came to place. If Brian didn't see the birds, he wouldn't find the berries for him to eat. He was lucky that he saw the birds eating those berries while he was searching for food. When the plane crashed, he was lucky that he survived from the crash. Not everyone can walk away not badly hurt from a crash. He was lucky that the place he crashed has food and water from him, or else he would die a lot earlier before anyone could find him. Like I said, survival is not all about luck, when he tried to make weapons for protection, that was when knowledge can to help out. If he never saw any videos, books, or if no one ever talked about or taught him about these things. He would not be able to make these weapons that he had made. So as the other things he made, the reason that Brian knows how to make them is because he was taught or he saw them.
Luck doesn't always help me. When I was in a tennis game, when all the pressure is crushing you. This is when luck doesn't help. All you can do is to use your knowledge and experience to fight back.

My Winter Holiday
My winter holiday was actually pretty fun. I went snowboarding in Japan with Hantine, Benson, Jason, Derek, and Melissa. We went there for five days, but actually we only snowboarded for 3 days because we arrived late one the first day and we have to lease early on the last day. The place we went is a ski resort, which is very big. There are several different mountains you can go up to. Expect for the first and last days, every single day we were snowboarding from morning for the afternoon. The food there was very good. There are alot of choices, such as ramen, curry, and other delicious meals. After 5 days of fun at Japan, we went back to our home town Taiwan. After I was back for a couple of days, I found out that my arm feels a little weird. So my mom took me to a doctor and took a x-ray. Guess what? I have a crack on my elbow. I have absolutely no idea how I cracked it. The next day I went to Taipei to get a cast for my hand. After that my break was pretty boring. I can't really do any sports or activities that involve big movements. I basically spend the rest of the break playing video games or went out for movies, but it is still a pretty fun break to me.
